i was so excited to not only take photos of my sweet lil niece, karina, but to also design her baby announcement. it had to be the perfect match to her beauty and preciousness. we decided on a trifold card in girlish pink with black and white timeless photos. all printed on pearl paper to showcase the images. the final product was absolutely stunning! and the response from family and friends is more then her proud parents and auntie could ask for

mikifoto mini-holiday sessions are finally planned. i am excited to announce all the details of this year’s holiday event:

a couple of other things:

* the four digital images will be emailed to clients.
* each mini session includes coverage for up to 4 people ($15 per additional person)
* the session fee is due at the time of booking to reserve your scheduled time slot
* there will be a limited number of sessions per week until November 20th. please contact us if you’re interested as soon as possible to ensure availability
* folded custom designed press printed cards are also available upon request

in your home, what do your walls say about you?  do you showcase images of your family or are your walls blank offering no history or sense of your particular style?  bare walls can indeed be intimidating.  even for me, i had trouble figuring out how to display photographs of my boys.  do i go traditional with black framed matted prints…maybe install shelving units and stack various sized frames in front of one another….or go bold with vibrant color and detail with gallery wrapped canvas?  YES - canvas was the answer!  i chose 16×20 and 20×24 canvas with a 3/4″ width.  the images fill up my once plain wall and now offer a show stopping, jaw dropping color punch.  everyone who enters my home is captured by my “great wall”.  

so for those of you who are battling the empty wall syndrome and want to add a big something something to your home…consider canvas (16×20s start at $250)!  you will not be sorry.  take a looksie at my home display….

it’s hard to believe that 2009 is already underway.  time seems to be moving at lightening speed.  i have a list of resolutions that i hope to work on, all with the overall theme of creating a “better me”.  yes, i know it sounds a bit cheesy.   but i hope this year enables me to be a little selfish and to think about myself first.  dare i even say that?!  how many times have we put ourselves last and made everyone else a priority…the kids, the hubby, the house, the job?  

well today i cleared my schedule and planned the morning to be about nothing else but me and my camera. it was grey and cold outside but i challenged myself to find some beauty in the everyday.  i walked around haile village in search of color, pattern, texture and mood.  it wasn’t easy shooting inanimate objects vs. my usual spunky kiddos.  at first, i couldn’t find anything but then i started to see things that i never took the time out to see before.  it was liberating and inspiring.      

so here are a few shots from my outdoor excursion….the first of many more of these solo sessions.
