color and natural light encourage your personality to shine through. and i think these portraits say warm, friendly and professional.

SELF PORTRAIT is this week’s theme. not only is it difficult to physically photograph yourself (my arms are just not long enough). but it is just as difficult and humbling to see what your camera captures. i took my photo at the end of the day. after school pickups, tennis lessons and prepping dinner on the stove. i can see the tired in my eyes. but i also see maturity and contentment.  i guess that what happens after being around the block for almost 40 years.

for spring break this year, we decided to take our family of five to paris, france. we knew that is was going to be challenging with three boys aged 9, 7 and 2. none of us speak french fluently. we don’t have any friends or family in the city. but it was an amazing and memorable journey. we rented an apartment and felt like the locals. we explored the city at our own pace and walked everywhere. we took the metro, ate deliciously and soaked up all the beautiful sights. the weather wasn’t cooperative with rain almost everyday. not to mention our stroller disaster with a broken wheel. but we kept calm and carried on (literally carrying our lil man shay everywhere there after). and we were together. just the five of us and our paris guide book. and of course my camera.

i will be posting images from each day of my travels. hopefully, they won’t bore you but excite and inspire you to take your own family trip. be it in your backyard or overseas

SOMETHING NEW is this week’s theme. i have always wanted to check out the high line in new york city, a public park built on a historic freight rail line.  it is elevated above the Manhatten streets and located in the meatpacking district.  it’s an urban oasis with pretty views and something totally new and different.  i also edited ALL of my images in black and white which is something new for me as well.  enjoy!
